Thanks to all the participants, sponsors and volunteers that helped make the 2012 Bear Trax a big success, and congratulations to our race winners: Jules Miller and Beth Anne Cooper in the Bear Trax 20K, and Andriy Nemesh and Holly Ochs in the Brownie Shuffle.
Reaching our limit of 500 participants for the first time was very special. What started as a small way to remember a dear friend has grown to an annual event that raises thousands of dollars for the Nancy Sellars Memorial Foundation, a fund dedicated to causes close to the heart of Nancy Sellars, a Milwaukee area endurance athlete who was killed by a drunk driver in 2008. The foundation is an unincorporated, non-profit association, dedicated to the enhancement of the public trails and waterways within Southeastern Wisconsin, supporting bicycle safety and rights awareness initiatives, and taking action to educate the public on the dangerous effects of drunk driving.
